Statement of Faith
1. The Bible, consisting of both Old and New Testament, is the revealed Word of God to man (1 Thess. 2:13). It was given by inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16), and men of old wrote as they were guided by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1 :21). It is inerrant in the original writings, and is our sole authority on all matters of doctrine and conduct.
2. There is one God (Deut. 6:4) eternally existent in three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28: 19). The three persons of the Godhead are distinct personalities, yet, in essence, are co-equal the one with the other (Ephes. 4:6; John 1: 1; Heb.9:14).
3. God the Father is the personality of the Godhead in whom the absolute attributes of God exist in Heaven, e.g. holiness, justice, love, power.
4. God the Son entered human history as a Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 3:16). He was born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:35) having been supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:20). While here upon earth Jesus was, in one personality, both truly God and truly man (John 10:33). While on earth He lived a perfect and sinless life and then died on the cross having offered Himself without spot to God as sacrifice for our sins (1 Peter 2:24). He rose bodily from the dead (Luke 24:39) and ascended to His Father's right hand in Heaven (Eph. 1 :20) there to appear as our great High Priest (Heb. 4:14-16; 9:24).
5. God the Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent by the Lord Jesus to abide with his people (John 14: 16-18). He indwells those who accept the atoning work of Christ for salvation (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Tim. 1:14) and seals them unto the day of redemption (Eph. 1: 13, 14:4:30). The function of the indwelling Spirit is to instruct the believer in the things pertaining to Christ (John '14:26; 15:26, 27) and to empower them for service. The Holy Spirit is the source and power of all acceptable worship and service, is the infallible interpreter of the Word of God (1 John 2:27; 1 Cor. 2: 13, 14).
6. Man was created innocent by God. By deliberate sin, Adam fell and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that Spiritual Death which is separation from God. All persons since born into the world are born sinners and are sinners in thought. word and deed. Reconciliation with God has been effected by God Himself who provided a Saviour in the person of His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins and was raised again for our justification (Rom. 4:25). This reconciliation is appropriated by individuals through faith in Christ (John 3:36). All who thus accept Him are saved eternally (John 10:28).
7. We believe that Christians are to set their affection on things above, not on things on the earth (Co:. 3:2-3, 1 John 2:15-17). We believe that Christians are to live a life of separation from the world (II Cor:. 6: 14-18), and in separation unto God (Romans 1: 1, II Cor. 6:17-18).
8. We believe in "that blessed hope," the personal, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (I Thess. 4: 16).
9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (Dan. 12:2; Rev. 20: 11-15).
10. The Church, referred to as the Body and Bride of Christ (Eph. 1 :22, 23), is composed of all persons who truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. Every believer is baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12:12-27; Gal. 3::27; Col. 1 :24). Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church (Eph. 5:22-32; Col. 2:19) and, as such, He directs the activities of His Church on earth. The local Church is the expression, in any locality, of the Church universal. It is composed of believers who gather as a corporate testimony to the Lordship of Christ (Col. 1: 18) and to the oneness of the Body of Christ (John 17:20, 21)
